Restore Corps

Restoring a Landscape through Education

Restore Corps is Green Cambridge’s newest paid youth internship, and is being piloted in Fall 2026-Spring 2027! If you are a Cambridge high school student interested in participating, please click here to learn more.

Prototyped during the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program as River Restore, Restore Corps will train and educate Cambridge teens in urban ecological restoration including invasive plant removal and native plant re-establishment in the Alewife Brook Reservation.

Using the Alewife Brook Reservation as an outdoor classroom, this program will connect youth aged 16-18 to this 136 acre shared landscape.

Seasonal cohorts will focus on removing invasive species, planting natives, mapping and design, and implementing land-based ecological restoration. Our guiding documents are the Alewife Master Plan and the Alewife District Community Health Action Plan we’ve developed over three years in partnership with the National Park Service, along with our local, state, and national partners.
