Volunteer with us!

Volunteer events throughout the year create meaningful experiences that connect the community with this 136-acre outdoor classroom.

Green Cambridge leads year-round, interactive & educational outdoor events in the Alewife Brook Reservation where community members can participate in citizen science initiatives, trash clean-ups, invasive plant mapping and removal, and educational nature walks in this beautiful blue and green space within the city. These volunteer events provide fun outdoor learning experiences, and an opportunity for the public to make a direct impact on local land restoration.

Land Stewardship

Invasive, non-native plant species are extremely prevalent in the Alewife Brook Reservation, out-competing native biodiversity and disrupting vital ecological systems.

We depend on volunteers to help us take care of this important green space and help its native flora and fauna thrive.

Join Green Cambridge in identifying and mapping invasive species using Earthwise Aware’s participatory science app Anecdata!

Stay up to date through our Eventbrite page for future removal events!

Educational Nature Walks

Connect with community members through guided educational walks in the Alewife!

Join Green Cambridge for a fun time outdoors while learning about:
