Group Volunteering

Green Cambridge offers volunteering opportunities that advance our mission and provide groups with team-building activities and learning experiences that connect to the local environment.

Using a sliding-scale donation structure, we ask our volunteer groups to support our work by donating to Green Cambridge, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Donating helps ensure your events success, covers materials and supplies, and supports the organization's youth-focused programmatic work. Your contribution is vital to Green Cambridge's work, and your group is celebrated on our website, in our newsletter, and through social media channels. 

We request donations on a sliding scale appropriate to your organization's size. Schools and local businesses that are members of Cambridge Local First are offered discounts on donation levels.

Volunteer events are scheduled throughout the year. We ask that groups provide staff to manage their participants during the event.

Below you will find our suggested donation rates for group volunteer events. We offer multiple opportunities across the year and are happy to work with you and your team to find the right fit. Email volunteer@greencambridge.org to reserve a day for your group!

Donation Terms

Groups working with us agree to donate the full pledged amount that fulfills the requested non-refundable donation structure listed above no later than two weeks before the event. Payment shall be made by check, electronic transfer, or credit card to Green Cambridge.

If using a credit card, we ask that the sponsor cover the processing fees.

  • For corporations, below are our base levels of support, and we ask that your donation level be in line with the scale of your organization.

    $1,750 Events with up to 15 volunteers
    $2,000 Events with 16-25 volunteers 
    $2,500 Events with 26-40 volunteers 
    $3,500 Events with 41-60 volunteers 
    $5,000 Events with 61-80 volunteers

  • For groups coming from Cambridge Local First members OR post-secondary institutions, we offer a 50% reduction in base donation levels.

    $875 Events with up to 15 volunteers
    $1,000 Events with 16-25 volunteers 
    $1,250 Events with 26-40 volunteers 
    $1,750 Events with 41-60 volunteers 
    $2,500 Events with 61-80 volunteers

  • For school volunteer groups (primary and secondary), who are working toward shared goals of inspiring future environmental leaders, we offer an 80% reduction in base donation levels. All rates include attending faculty and staff counts.

    Class trips from public schools may qualify for lower amounts!

    $450 Events with 16-25 volunteers
    $550 Events with 26-40 volunteers
    $750 Events with 41-60 volunteers
    $1,000 Events with 61-80 volunteers

  • We prize working together with other non-profits and community groups to push shared goals forward. Rates below are suggested, but we encourage groups to contact us to find the right fit.

    $450 Events with 16-25 volunteers
    $650 Events with 26-40 volunteers
    $850 Events with 41-60 volunteers
    $1,000 Events with 61-80 volunteers
