Join Canopy Crew
A paid 8-month urban forestry and environmental careers discovery program for Cambridge high school students aged 16-18.
During weekly classroom-style lessons and hands-on weekend sessions, Crew members dive into the world of urban forestry.
From October-May, our cohort of 10-12 teens plant trees on private property across Cambridge, helping to build and grow our urban forest while exploring green careers, learning about environmental science, justice, art, and policy, and developing a deeper connection to nature and a sense of agency in the fight against climate change. Crew members practice and conduct community outreach, and in the spring, deliver a youth-led capstone project focused on community education, conveying the importance of trees and the role they play in creating a sustainable city.
