AboutOn February 17, 2017, Cambridge Mayor Simmons (along with Councilors Devereux and Carlone) authorized the creation of the Tree Task Force, a group of tree supporters working to protect Cambridge's tree canopy. Among other tasks, the group will ensure that Cambridge trees are protected against climate change and urbanization. Some of the Tree Task Force's goals are to expand Cambridge's urban tree canopy, to ensure that its trees are thriving, and to secure environmental equity for all of its residents.
Out of this effort came the Urban Forest Master Plan now underway. You can find out more about it at this link. |
