Food is more than feeding our population. Food creates community and connects us to the ecologic cycle.
Local food production is an essential pillar to climate resiliency, and also serves to make better, healthier neighborhoods. Green Cambridge partners with groups, individuals, and the City to bring more urban agriculture to Cambridge. It is in our town heritage! Using the Permaculture model as our guiding philosophy, we advocate for more cultivation of food in Cambridge and have built an urban farm to show what is possible! |
Hurley Street Neighborhood Farm
A prototype for communal gardens built and run by volunteers and a place for educational workshops on urban agriculture through the permaculture lens.

Rain Barrels
Our volunteers run an installation and advice program for people who have purchased rain barrels from the city, and we donate barrels for those in need.
